Moving into Fall

Hello,

Fall is really filling our air. The nights are crisp and cool and the days have been sunny and warm with a little rain every now and then.   I have been busy raking leaves and finishing up with the garden cleanups.

 

 

Last Friday Liz ,Victoria and I went to Rochester to the Memorial Art Gallery to look at the art.  We all were epically interested in seeing the “Infinity  Room” .   It is a room of mirrors and reflective balls.

 

 

 

 

All of it a bit over whelm inly beautiful!   The rest of the art was good too and we had a good day.

 

My Joyous Embroidery Class is now over, But I still have projects to finish.  I will post them in progress report.

The Pixies also meant and  We got to talking about Halloween and costumes.  I will post about that next week.

FAD had a meeting yesterday as well.   Sharon shared a  beautiful new piece with wonderful depth. .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Progress Report: Nine Play     This work is 43″ X 43″.    I still need to add the labels  on the back, but I am posting it as complete anyway.  It does seem to have nice movement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nine Two    This work is the sister to Nine Play.   I just started quilting it this morning so I am not very far along.    It is stable as I did stitch in the ditch on the edges of the nine blocks that are the start of this work.

 Lap # 18   I just enjoy playing with the process some times and that is what this project is all about.  I am playing with the colors a bit too.

 

 

 

 

 

Lap ## 19   I have pulled the fabric I want to use in the next Lap quilt and that is about all I can say about this one.   Quite a contrast form the mono chromatic one I did this week!

 

 

 

 

 

Sea Floor      This is a rework project from my rock series about six years ago.  ( I will attach a before image)

 

 

I have been adding to this as a part of the Joyous Embroidery class assignment.    I really enjoyed the process and the new found freedom to embellish with lots of extra’s.   An antique belt bucket here for example.

 

Blue Sea  I have not put in much time on this work as I have been concentrating on other had work instead, but the trumpo is going well.

 

Light Florals   This work is also a result of my class with Flur Woods.  The Lace is mostly from my friend Judy.   There is still lots of work to do however.   It needs some colored embroidery work,   but I am pleased with how it is going.

I hope everyone has the type of Halloween that they enjoy.

Fall Beauty

Hello,

 Fall is creating her wonders around here now.  So many colors and changes.  I enjoy the walks whit the leaves skittering down the path in front of me while I crunch through them. I made my usuals fall efforts to catch the falling colored leaves as they rushed toward the earth, but was not real successful today.   The wall nuts are piling up and the white pines have dropped many cones.  I collected some and hope to create a wreathe later.

My weeks continue to be full.   It started with  a Finger Lakes Fiber Artist Meeting on Saturday.     This is Marcia’s newest piece.   She dose wonderful work I think,

Victoria had two new pieces and I liked them both.   The use of grommets to connect the units is a great solation as I am sure they would fight with the eye of the viewer  for attention other wise.

 

Her second one is very interesting with the weaving  too.

 

 This week also  included an opening at the Manlius Library for the new members of Assonated Artists.  Friends Adam Virial and Carol Adamic were among them.

I enjoy Adam’s playfulness.

 

The sculpture is one of Carol’s.   She can be so playful with her work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Pixies meant as usual.  Susan has asked us to do memories about food, so I will make that story and illustration at the end.

Victoria, Liz and I meant Cheri and Liz at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester on Thursday and had a wonderful time.   We visited the Infinity Room with it many mirrors and reflection balls.  It was powerful!

I also did more with the Joyous Embroidery Class.   I am enjoying creating my Fabric Collage piece although it is slow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Progress Report: Nine Play    I am to the quilting Stage on this project now.   I am doing reflective quilting with little added picks were there are color changes.

Nine Two    This is the second nice patch with similar colors in use.   I am using curves here too to add a different feel.

 

 

 

 

Lap # 17   This quilt is also ready for the quilting stage now.

 

 

 

 

 

Sea Floor I am nearing the completion of this project I think.   I only want to add a bit more clutter to the bottom and it will be ready for binding.

 

Blue Sea  I am doing the hand work of adding trumpto  to this piece.  It is very slow as I don’t put in too much time on it.

 

 

 

Food Memory :  Strawberries and Ice Cream

In those summers when we lived with the McElhinney grandparents I recall getting in her bright blue Ford and driving about mile down the road to the Samuels house. We would go in and Grandmother would talk with Mrs Samuels for a while . I had to seit quietly while this went on. The we would all go out to the strawberry bed. It was huge and there were 12 foot 12inch boards placed across the bed every so many feet. One would walk out on the board and kneel down to pick the berries. I loved doing that as I would always eat a few as I picked. I don’t recall, but I am sure Grandmother paid her- be it in cash or eggs. Then we went back home and washed and cut the berries before some were frozen and some just went into the refrigerator. Later in the afternoon Grandmother loaded Gene and I into the car and we went to town to the Ice House. She would put some coins in the box on the out side and then go into the building and carry out a block of ice with some enormous thongs. She would but put the ice block on a burlap feed sack in the trunk of the car. Then back to the farm. The ice was carried down to the basement sink were Gene and I had to break it up with the ice pick and put it in the ice cream maker. We did not work on that long as folks started to arrive and the Uncles and Dad took over the job. Soon Grandmother carried down a silver cullender full of cream and such to make the ice cream. She put it into the barren and ice was added around it. Then the cranking began. I remember Uncle Ernie, Uncle Jim, Uncle Bernard, Grandpa and Dad cranking for what seemed like hours to me. I did beg for a try once and found it to be a lot harder than I expected. Every now and then more ice and salt was added to the top of the wooden crank barrel. Ice water leaked out the bottom of the barren as the ice cream hardened. Mean while up stairs the women talked and the kids, myself included, played in the yard. Finally the ice cream was done and it was celebration time. I recall how exciting it was to be handed a old margerin bowl with a power milk biscuit inside and a couple of big scoops of ice cream. One then moved to the table to add fresh strawberries and get a spoon. Kids went out to the picnic table to enjoy the feast. The fireflies came out and we ate all the ice cream. From my point of view life could not be better.

The View

Hello,

     Yesterday Liz and I made a trip to Old Forge to see the quilt shows at the View.     It was wonderful.   I was so attuned to seeing composition after the show that I had to take a photo of the wall was we walked away.   Look for a work based on this in my future.

 

 

 I really enjoyed the shows and having work by people I knew only added to the enjoyment.      Marcia had one of her real beauties accepted .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Noel had two in the show and this one won First Prize.

 

 

 

 

Sue Ellen also had two works accepted in this show.    ( it is square the angle is my fault)

 

 

 

 

This quilt won the award for best use of color and it is the one I liked best too.   All the colors are done with silk.

 

 

Denies had a quilt in the Contrast QSDS show that was also on display at the View.

 

 

 

 

 

This week I also had a zoom meeting with the Pixies.   My Food entry for this week was  a Baked Potato.

Here is the accompanying story:

When I was about 10 my parents decided to go back to school and they did it in the summers. Gene and stayed with them in student housing in Iowa City for the fist week. It was not designed with children in mind and very desolate. When we went to visit our grandparents on the week end it was decided that we would stay with them instead of living in Iowa City. All that summer and for several others we would alternate between Dad’s parents on the farm in Morning Sun for a week and spend the following week with Mom’s folks in Grandview. As kids it was great for us. I recall one day when Grandmother Ruth had prepared baked potatoes as a part of dinner. Both Gene and I turned up our noses at that. Grandmother asked “ do you like mashed potatoes and potato chips?” We agreed we did and then she said “ Has anyone ever taught you how to eat backed potatoes?” Then she preceded to slice the skin and mashed it with a fork followed with salt and pepper. Then she topped the whole thing with of butter.“ Now try it.”  We both did We loved baked potato’s ever sense.

 

  The Quilt Diva’s  had a meeting on Tue and it was a fun and lively one.       Anne took a  class called “Forest Bathing” .   It was all bout slowing down and enjoying the environment.   She  then did a follow up drawing class with the same teacher.       We are  a malty  talented group.

 

 

 

This quilt was a challenge from the Modern Quilt group that Anne belongs as well.

 

 

 

 

 

  I also am working away on my Joyous Embroidery class stuff.    I am enjoying the fabric collage project that we are now working on.

 

 

Progress Report: Nine Play   I have split up and shuffled the nine basic blocks.  I added some strips in as well to add interest.  I think I am ready to start assembling the  top  now.

 

 

Blue Sea    I have layered  this work and after some suggestions form the Diva group I now have some good ideas about how to do the quilting.

 

 

Sea Floor  This work is being influenced by the Joyous Embroidery class  and my interest in the sea too.  I painted the lace that my friend Judy gave me with the intent to use it on the class project- but it works better here.   This project is also a re work of an older quilt from my Rock based work series.   The sea horses are the ones  that did not work on Blue Sea.

Scrap work   I am working away on this project.  I  sewed a lot of blocks tougher this week.

 

 

 

Lap quilt # 17     As a part of the  SAQA 45 day challenge I am working away on lap quilts.  These are the colors I have selected to use for the next one.

 

The days go by quickly and I am filling them with work and good times.

Weather Wonder

Hello,

The weather has been amazing here in central NY.   I helped with the park cleanup on Sat and was in my  tee shirt most of the time.   We pulled lots of grape vines out of the trees and trimmed out dead wood from around bushes.  Then on Sunday I went down to Buttermilk Falls and walked the rim trail with my grandson.    That was very tiring and I learned later that the climb along the river was equilivant to climbing 24 flights of stairs .  No wonder I got a little winded.   It was very enjoyable though.

I had two Zoom meetings this week.  The Pixies and the QuEGs.   Always good to catch up with folks and share.

The Joyous Embroidery class is going well too.    I did make paper clay bits to attach later to my Tide Pool work.   They are still too wet to paint, but tomorrow they may be ready for that step.

 

 

 

 

Progress Report:  Lap # 15    This quilt was completed on Monday and I sent it off to Mike yesterday.  I only had a strip 24″ long left over form this project.

 

 

 

 

Lap #16  After I had finished  my last lap quilt I got busy on a new one.  Only  need to  add in these last four  units  together and this top will be done too.

 

 

 

Basket  This project is all done and already function as a collection are for some smaller stuff.

 

 

Drawing  Susan has sent us off on another little challenge.  She is asking us to write a bit about a food memory and illustrate it.   I have vivid memories of Mom making popcorn on Sunday evenings that we ate while we watched TV.

 

 

 

Puppets I am making paper puppets as a part of center pieces for Social Art .  These figures are going to be put on sticks.  They represent the 9  animal symbols of the Tribes of the Onondaga Nation.  I have yet to draw the Eagle and then I will be done.

Nine Play In that between time of sleep and full wakefulness, I had an idea for a new quilt.  These are the colors I am going to play with.

 

 

 

 

Blue Sea  I made new seahorses and added them the to surface this week .  Now sure how I want to finish it so it is waiting.

Hello,

I can’t quite believe we are at the end of this month.  The time seems to be flying by.    Fall mushrooms are appearing in yard now.  I so enjoy coming across these little treasures.  This one, although not colorful as the many orange yellow ones or the white puff balls I see scattered across my lawn, I find specially dear.   Perhaps that is because of the splits that are signs of ageing and growth or because of the scale changes in color.  I am not sure, but I am enchanted.   It’s like a faded flower in some way too.

This week was busy with a FAD  and Pixie meetings.   Judy is busy working away on small quilts to use up her fabric stash.

 

 

 

 

I also made progress on my work for the Joyous Embroidery class.    Fleur Woods gave us lots of ways to add texture to our work this week.     Making Pompons was one of them.  I tried doing it with out the tool first and that is were the big ones came from.  Then yesterday I got the tool at Michaels  and those pompons are much better.     she also suggested that we do some free crochet  to make little mounds or tuffs.   I think I need to keep playing with that idea.   She is inspiring me a lot however.

Progress Report: Imagine    This quilt is 32″ w X 53″ t.      It is the last of the split compliment pieces.  I have some other ideas of projects using the many yards of solids that Liz gave me, but not with color study being the emphasis.   I have learned a lot about color doing these exercises.  And I have learned a bit about quilting too.

 

 

 

 

Ethel Scrap project   I just keep working away on these bits and pieces building more and more 5″ squares.

 

 

Basket    I joined the SAQA Strolling along challenge again and so I am putting in an hour every other day on this project.  It takes me about 40 min for every trip around the out side at this point.  I am on row three of the build up of the sides.

 

 

 

Lap #15  I alternating  the  work  on  the  basket  with  work  on  a lap  quilt.  This  one  is  extra  long   because  I  making it for my cosine  Mike who is over  6 ft tall.     It is pin basted now and I will start to quilt it later today.

 

 

 

Lap # 17    Seeing that I will soon finish # 15, I pulled these fabrics for the next one this week.

 

 

 

Blue Sea- Felt  I made seahorses I made last week were too dark for this work so I made new ones.    They are still dark, but they do work  on the surface  of the project.

 

I will add eyes and stretch it and move on I hope.    There is another work down the road using the seahorses that did not work for this project too.

 

 

 

Drawing.    I did not do a collage this week , but I did draw these dragon flies and frog instead.

Enjoy the cooling  weather and changing color.

Quiet Time Continues

Hello,

I continue to find I have wonderful stretches of time to finish up the nesting I seem to find myself in at this point.  I spent three mornings this week pulling all the fabric off the shelves in my 12 foot closet and refolding and arranging them by color.   The closet is only four feet wide so I can’t show you  all, but I feel really good about getting that done.  I have lots more clear space on the  surfaces in the room now and I can find what I am looking for too.  Of course I uncovered  special stuff I wanted to work with and finish up.  So I have lots on new inspiration to move on.

 I did do the Textile Talk from SAQA this week and meant with the Pixies too.  I did a Praying Mantis for my  collage insect this week.

 

 

 

 

I also spent a day with my friend Marty, and two other gals came to visit as well.   Sharon borough along her newest piece.     I really like the feeling of depth she creates.

 

 

 

 

 Progress Report: Imagine  I finally decided on a title for this split complanate  piece.    And I have moved on to the quilting stage.

 

Scrap   I spent time making blocks of some of the squares I cut last week.   The progress is slow as I only work for an hour every time I work at it, but I find that system works for me.

Felt- Blue Sea    The sea weed got stitched down and the big fish got eyes  this  week.

 

 

 

 

  I made brain coral for this project this week.   The process is slow  but I like the effect.  I learned it years ago and it is from a process used on some hats in the past.  I will add a tutorial on the process.

I also tried to make some sea horses for this project using the roving and stitching process from my QBL class.    I like the results,  but the color does not work for me and they are all swimming in the wrong direction for this work.    So I have raw material for the next one.   I also did a star fish for the Joyous Embroidery class  and it will be a part of the new piece too.   The background is one of the fabrics that I painted for the  Embroidery class.

Basket   While I was doing all the sorting and such of the fabrics I found this silk kimono yarn and decided to make a basket to hold some of the raw materials for various projects.  I started yesterday and I like how it is going.   This is only  about half the base.

 

 New Lap  With the sorting I found lots of fabrics that I want to use as jumping off places for new lap quilts.   This is the stuff for the next one.

Moving Forward

  Hello,

The cone flowers are fading and  the Rose of Sharon’s and Black Eyed Susan’s are in their glory.   But I did spot these few leaves that are pointing toward the fast approaching fall.    I can’t believe we are in the middle of  Aug already.     It was a busy week for me  with a Finger Lakes Fiber Artist meeting on Sat.    It was very stimulating as usual.    I am always amazed at the wide creative expressions in that group.

 

 

Liz showed us her wonderful hand work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Joyce shared several baskets and a doll she had created.

 

 

 

Deb had a Cubist style  set of portraits to share.

 

 

 

 

 

Susan has finished assembling the top she was working on at QBL.  It is a cut up and rework of an old project.

 

 

 

 

 

Joan is doing  wonderful painting mixed with great fabric collage quilting work here.

It was a great meeting.

I also had a Pixie meeting this week and we had a good talk.

 

Progress Report:  Lap # 12     This is the first quilt in a long time that does not have any of the fabric that printed for the 100 Day Challenge in it. 

 

 

 

 

 

I did use lots of stuff that I had altered though.

 

 

 

 

Reggie’s Quilt   At QBL, Reggie specialized in assembling  blocks that she had picked up over the years.   She gave me this top all put together and I  did the quilting.  I am working on the binding now and plan to add it to my lap quilt stash.   My granddaughter has agreed to take them to the nursing home were she worked for me to go to folks in the wheel chairs there.

Elizabeth’s paintings   When Marty and I went to Maine to visit Elizabeth Bush she gave us both some of her little canvas paintings.  “Use then as you please ,”she said.    I finally decided to turn them into cards to mail to folks.

 

 

College Insect – Praying Mantis    The pixie subject of Insects to Animals in still in effect  so I continued my study.  This collage is done with a ball point pen drawing on top.

 

 

Jeans   The work goes on with this project.  I thought I could use the machine drawn flowers that I had purchased from Amanda on the jeans, but their is not enough contrast.

 

 

 

 

 

 So I saved a blouse that had a big black spot on the front with the flowers and continue to add stitches to the legs.

 

 

 

 

 

Handwork Napkin   I worked on this while I listened to the SAQA lecture on Wed.  It was a good talk and I am finished with the handwork on this project

 

 

 

New Work I was fascinated by the bark on one of the trees at QBL  So I took a lot of photos.  The bark pulled away and split as the tree grew.     I though I could use that idea as a jumping off place for a quilt and so here goes.   First I pulled the fabrics I want to use.

 

 

 

Then I started cutting and pinning.   You will have to stay tuned to see were this goes.

Art, Garden and Sustainability Trail

Hello,

Our neiborhood had its first be event on Sat.  The weather was beautiful and the day stayed cool.  I set up my booth  and my first action was a trade with a fellow crafter.  I got a beautiful piece of pottery and she got a quilt.

I had a very successful day I think as I sold 19 little works.

 

 

 

I had a FAD meeting yesterday  and we spent the whole time out of doors enjoying Patti’s garden and all the birds at her feeder.

 

 

 

 

 

I also had a Pixie meeting yesterday.    For that I had completed a Celtic R for Robert’s pillow.   All the pillows went into the mail yesterday too.

 

 

Progress Report: After Effects  I finished this 34″ w X 42″t piece yesterday. I stared this at QBL and  I added more trees after I got home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lap Quilt # 11 I am almost done using fabrics that I printed for the SAQA 100 Day Challenge.

 

The big orange on tan are the prints I did for that project.

 

 

 

 

Pillow.     This pillow got completed this week.  It too is a whole cloth print I did on the 100 Day Challenge.

 

 

 

 

Lap Quilt # 12  I stated a new lap quilt as soon as I moved to the quilting step this week.

 

 

 

Collage – insect  The Pixies have an assignment for the month of Aug and it is to use Insects in your art.  I did my first collage in a few weeks and I drew my insect on top.

 

 

 

 

Handwork    Amada suggested in class that we apply some hand work to the surfaces we created.  I did start this the last day of class. I think the handwork is done now.  I think I will apply it to a surface to feature it on a bag or something.

 

 

Jeans   I also purchased some of Amanda McCarvour’s   machine drawn flowers  and decided to apply them to a pair of my favorite jeans that are starting to show wear.  I have added some blue jean patches too.

QBL plus

 Hello,

It has been a busy three weeks sense I last wrote a message  with lots of events.   Summer is in full force here and  very beautiful.   I am looking forward to the Art, Garden and Sustainability  Trail that will be taking place in my nationhood this Sat.    More about that next week.

First I want to talk about Quilting by the Lake 2023.    This year, its 37th,  the event took place at Wells College in Arura NY.  The college is in a splendid  setting  on beautiful Cayuga Lake.   Several folks went swimming in the lake too. The campus has lots of gracious  old building and as it runs along the lake edge there are lots of ups and downs.

This is a shot of my dorm.  I was in the front corner room,  level one with two windows.  We spent several evenings on the balcony stitching during the week.

There was also a very large and comfortable parlor were we worked to put together a puzzle week two. It had 2,000 pieces and we did not complete the task, so I broth it home and I plan to bring it week one next year so we can get the whole thing done.   This shot is of Lori and Reggi early on in the process.

This is how far we got before we had to dismantle it for travel.

 

Week one I was in independent study with  a dozen other gals.

 

 

 

 

Nancy finished this top, a quilt and did some machine drawing of a Goldfinch.

 

 

 

 

 

Reggie, who specializes in picking up finished blocks  and making tops out of them, did five during the week.   This one is make up of Dear Jane  blocks.  One   of 4.5″ block had 49 hand pieced units in it.

 

These pineapple blocks were done by another gal in studio and they got completely assembled as a quilt top for her grandson.

 

 

Rachel Clark taught a coat making class in our building week one and also gave the opening lecture.  It was inspiring.

 

 

 

 

Week one ended with show and tell in the dinning room.

This is a shot of a few folks from Irene Rodrick’s class ” Dancing with the Wall. ”

I went home and did laundry before returning on Sunday for week 2 and my class with Amanda McCarver.

Our class was was working with wash away  and roving to create different effects.   We did lots of little experiments and I learned a lot.    I am sure I will apply what I have learned to my work in the future.    This  a shot of the Solvy sandwich  with roving, yarn and loose threads before machine work is applied.

We  also had a quilt show that was of work of the Finger Lakes Fiber Art’s group.     This shot is Victor’s Work  from the show.

There was an event every night that included a trip to the Schweinfurth to see the Nancy Crow show were she gave a lecture.  We visited a local farm were there was a talk on antique quilts  and both weeks had a night were we gathered around the fire pit and made  Smores.  This shot is of Davana enjoying hers.

We had good time and made some new friends and enjoyed our old friends too.

 

 

 

 

Week II of QBL completed with show and tell and the Apron Auction.

 

This shot is of Elsa and her Blue Bird.    She was in David Taylor’s class.

 

 

The Apron Auction was lots of fun with lots of silliness.    The money goes to the Scholarship Fund, a very worth while cause.

It was a bit sad to see it all end, but I enjoyed myself as did many others.

Tue was the Aug Diva meeting.

 

Most of the time was spent talking of how we will finish up the “Together We Rise Project.”   This is Lori’s entry.

 

 

 

 

Mary  reworked hers as she did not feel that the burbles read well.    I think the balloons do a great job.

 

 

 

 

 

Mary also had a great self directed project.  She is still working through some of the fabric’s she purchased when she traveled to Africa.

 

Her beading adds an extra layer of interest.

 

We visited the Rock Garden Art show at the Homer Art Center while we were there.       Terrie had four little cityscapes .  There were all fun.

 

Cheri had four more of her wonderful prints in the show too.     I really like what she is doing now.

 

 

 

 

 

I also had a Pixie meeting yesterday and enjoyed catching up with those folks.  Our new assignment is to do something with insects.  I need to finish my lettering for that too.   I did an L and an S    at  QBL that I plan to turn  them  into pillows this week .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Progress Report: Wild Fire in Whisky Hollow   This work is  35″ w  X35″ t.  I did this in indigent study at QBL.    I did the binding and  sleeve after I got home.     With this work I really wanted to show a green tree paired with one on fire.    I saw and image like this in my check in with the wild fires in Canada that week.

 

 

 

 

 

 

After the Fire  I was struck by the destruction  of the fires and what remains afterward , so I made this quilt as it is a part of the story too.   I think is needs more work so it is not completed yet.

 

 

 

 

Handwork   This is what I worked on during QBL while setting on the balcony of my dorm .   It is moving along.

 

 

 

 

Lap quilt #11    I finished this top before I went off to QBL.  That seems like a long time ago to me now.    On to the layering and quilting.

 

 

 

 

 

Scrap Happy    I assembled and quilted this quilt tis week in preparation for the local  Art, Garden and Sustainability  Trail on Sat.   I will  deliver it to one of the organizer this afternoon.

 

 

 

 

It has been a busy time , but I have enjoyed it all.

Summer Time

 Hello,

 

It is full summer time here.    I enjoyed Fireworks along with my friends  and was out doors a lot this week.   I went to the Towpath quilt show on Sat and  enjoyed the work of many hands.

 

I got to see Noel’s  pieces for the group challenge.  Participants got a line from The Night Before Christmas” to illustrate.     I think she did a great job.

 

 

 

 

  There was lots of wonderful work.  I was fascinated by this quilt where  the artists had added ink tense color to her embordered work.   It was a great show and there were lots of good pieces.

 

 

 

I also had a pixie meeting this week.  We are challenging  ourselves to use letter or text in our work this month.   I did join the SAQA Strolling Along  45 day Challenge on July 1 too.  I am using Prepared as my first emphasis.

Progress Report: Prepared   This is the 5th in the Split Compliment series.   It is all assembled and ready for quilting at this point.

 

 

 

Collage    I did my collage work this week as usual.   This is were I did my Letters for the Pixie challenge with this orange work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I did add some drawing with this second collage.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Blue Beach   I have decided that this work is complete now.  I only need to add a sleeve and labels  and it is done.

 

 

 

 

 

Scrap Happy    Our nationhood is having a Art and Garden show in early Augusts and I told them a few month ago I would donate a quilt for them to raffle off.  I had forgotten about that commitment until I saw the advertisement.   it has taken a bit of a effort, but the blocks got assembled and put into rows this week.  I will make a back and put the work together this week as I want to have it done before QBL on the 16 of July.

New Work  Sense I can see the end of a the Prepared work, I pulled some more of the printed fabric from the SAQA 100 day challenge pile and that was the starting point for the colors  for this project.
